Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information the Arabian Saluki Championship collects when you register a saluki, use the owner portal, or use the Arabian Saluki mobile app, and what we do with it.
Who is responsible for your information
Emirates Falconers Club is responsible for the information described here, together with the Arabian Saluki Center, which operates the saluki registry on the Club’s behalf. References to “we” and “us” below mean both organisations.
Information we collect
- Your account: your name in English and Arabic, mobile number, email address, emirate and city, and, where you provide them or verify your identity through UAE PASS, your Emirates ID number and nationality.
- Sign-in records: a one-way hash of your password (never the password itself), one-time codes sent to your device, sign-in times, the devices you have signed in from, and failed sign-in attempts.
- Your salukis: registration details such as name, date of birth, sex, coat type, colour and microchip number; pedigree links to sire and dam; photographs; vaccination and veterinary records, including your vet’s name, clinic and phone number; DNA test records and supporting documents; and competition entries and results.
- Files you upload: photographs and documents attached to your account or to a saluki.
- Support requests: the messages, attachments and contact details you send us when you ask for help.
- Notifications: your channel preferences, a record of the emails, messages and push notifications we send you, and a push token identifying your device, together with its platform and device name.
How we use it
- To register you and your salukis, maintain the studbook, verify pedigree and DNA, and issue digital passports.
- To accept competition entries, issue entry passes, and publish results and standings.
- To contact you about your registrations, entries, results and support requests.
- To keep your account secure, prevent misuse, and meet our record-keeping obligations.
We do not track you
The mobile app contains no advertising networks, no analytics services and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Face ID and device security
If you turn on Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint unlock, the check is performed by your phone’s operating system. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never sent to us; the app only receives confirmation that the check succeeded.
Who we share it with
- Championship officials, judges and appointed veterinarians, to the extent needed to verify entries, inspect salukis and record results.
- Service providers who host our systems and deliver our email, SMS and push notifications, under contracts that limit them to acting on our instructions.
- Public authorities where the law requires it.
- Some information is published as part of the championship, for example a saluki’s registered name, its owner’s name, and its placings in published results and standings.
Where your information is held
Our systems run on Amazon Web Services. Some information may be processed outside the United Arab Emirates by the providers described above, protected by contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Registry records, meaning a saluki’s registration, pedigree, DNA verification and competition results, form part of a permanent studbook and are kept indefinitely, so that pedigrees and results remain verifiable for future generations.
- Account information, uploaded files, support conversations and notification records are kept while your account is open, and are deleted or anonymised when you close it, except where we must keep them by law.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete my account in the mobile app, or from your account settings in the owner portal. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
When you delete your account we remove your sign-in credentials, contact details, uploaded files, support conversations and notification history, and disconnect your name from the registry.
Registry records for salukis registered in your name are retained as described above, with your personal details removed. If you would rather a saluki stay with a named owner, transfer it to that owner before deleting your account.
Your rights
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you may ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw a consent you have given. Write to us using the contact details below and we will respond within the period the law allows.
Security
Traffic between your device and our systems is encrypted. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Uploaded files are served through short-lived signed links rather than public addresses, and staff access is limited by role.
Children
The portal and the app are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app or by email.
